Bedroom Inspiration

2 weeks and counting until I move!  

Packing isn't going well (meaning I'm being super lazy about actually participating in it....) but the designing of my new apartment is going stupendously! 

I just ordered a couple of these panels from Urban Outfitters for my bedroom.

Yes, I understand they are a little girly. I am okay with that and have plans on mixing in natural elements and also some black & white graphic prints. Plus, I'm digging the color scheme of the panels. Yellow, pink, gray blue..... 

I plan on pairing them with some natural-esque elements like blinds....

I think a natural woven rug will look fantastic too!

I still need to figure out what I should do about my duvet cover. If you remember I was beyond excited when I purchased my black and white trellis cover from good ol' Overstock. Once the window panels arrive I'll be able to figure out if my love affair with my duvet can continue.  I'm thinking it will work if I pair it with all white bedding.

And I'm kinda beyond smitten with the Nate Berkus headboard. Originally I wanted the navy blue velvet but I think the white or pewter may work better with my new color scheme. Plus, there's that dang white cat I have who would rub mass amounts of annoying white hair all over that super dark navy blue velvet.

Wouldn't that gray look lovely against the pale pink walls?

Well Hello....

Fancy meeting you here my dears.... I've been missing for quite some time because I've been a busy little bee. Still busy in fact. I'm basically killing it when it comes to kitchen and bathroom designing. Killing it. My kitchen project I was so diligently updating you on has finished (pics coming shortly) and it positively rocks my socks off. If I wore socks in July that is. The client is so positively pleased that she gave me a rave review to her neighbor and low and behold.... I am starting the design on her neighbors abode next week. I have also completely another kitchen remodel that I should have pics of next week. Retirement in Florida was the inspiration. Confused? Don't be. You'll totally get it when I show you pics.

And in more important news....I have found an apartment! Due to my busy schedule there was just no time to actually stress over finding a place. Just this past Saturday I looked at a lovely one bedroom in Chicago's Frank Lloyd Wright district. The second I walked in I got that "feeling" that most gals get when they meet "the one". Or at least I think that's what it would feel like. Personally I'd rather have a fab apartment than a silly boy. I gots me some issues.

I move the end of July so you bet I am all over my apartment design. I have some things I'm thinking of and have been endlessly saving inspiration images. Wanna see?

I'm going to attempt to be more choosy and sophisticated in my decor choices this time around. In the past it has appear that a crayon box has vomited all over my home. This time I will be selective. Grays, taupe, and white will be in abundance with dashes of pale pink, yellow and navy. 

I'm pumped!
