Labor(ing) Day

Why hello again. How was your Labor Day? Mine you ask? Well, it was pretty unproductive. And I mainly blame that on the Soap Net channel. Perhaps it's silly to place blame on a television channel but I wasn't the one who decided it was a good idea to run a Beverly Hills 90210 marathon the entire day. We're talking around 6 hours of nothing but Brandon, Brenda, Kelly, Dylan, Steve, Donna, David, and Andrea with a little Mr. and Mrs. Walsh thrown in. Soap Net called it the "Labor of Love Marathon." I called it the "Labor of Procrastination Marathon." Laundry? Nah, can't get to it right now....90210 is on.

I did manage to do a few things on my day off:

1. I embraced that fall is a coming (yippie!) by telling my nude colored nails to take a hike and instead painted them a lovely shade of gray called "Point Break" (bottom right hand corner of pic). Any nail polish company who names a color after one of the awesomest movies ever made is ok in my book!

2. I also "crafted" a bit a decided to take my love of pom poms to another level. I saw this DIY necklace and thought it was so lovely that I had to have one! I happened to have some leftover yarn so I decided to give it a go. Do you see the uber hip redhead modeling the necklace in the below picture? Well, I looked nothing like that after making my own necklace. Imagine an excited idiot wearing balls of yellow, white, and turquoise yarn around her neck. Got that image in your head? Because that was me. I was excited about completing the project but boy oh boy did I look like a dork wearing that thing.

Mine looks cute hanging on a bookshelf but not so much while hanging on a (i.e. my) neck. Maybe I should do more neutral colors? We'll see....

3. I also researched the death out of potential fabric to cover that $1.99 chair I purchased on Friday. Here's what has made the final cut... It appears that my pink phase is back in full force. I'm not too happy about it but it is what it is. Hopefully this time I won't go and paint my walls magenta.... No one told me how difficult it is to prime over magenta walls before moving out of a rented apartment. Yowza.....

And here's the chair one of these will be going on. Awesome, no? I mean, it was a $1.99!! I'm pretty sure the fabric  winner will be the black and white chevron pattern. I have been in a torrid love affair with the colors black and white (and anything chevron for that matter) for some time now so I don't think I will ever get sick of it!

 Love,
