Friday Love Fest- British Version

I dated a British guy one weekend. Yes, it only lasted the weekend. He quickly revealed his true non-British colors and became a clingy sap who wanted to stay in and watch the movie Love Actually. Nope, I'm not hating on that movie, I love it in fact, but really British guy? Where's the mystery and aloofness? That's what I was hoping to get with a British guy. I find the one emo-Brit. My luck.

Anyways, for some reason I was thinking of British guy today and thought I'd dedicate my Friday Love Fest to all things fabulously (and some stereotypically) British.

The Flag
Somehow their flag never looks cheesy, effortlessly fits into any decor, and is consistently trendy. I would never, ever throw an American flag into my apartment. But a British flag? Do it. What's up with that? I'm sure those who live in England don't find their own flag to be a decor option but I'm even more sure that they don't use the American flag as a decor option.....

The Scenery

American strip malls = Depressing

&

American generic McMansions = Kill me now.

Quaint English Shops = Lovely

&

English roadside homes & cottages= Doubly lovely

The Slogan
Love it or hate it, your choice. It did spur quite a few knockoffs though!

The TV Show
Skins. Now I couldn't tell you if this show is as amazing to those across the sea as it is to me. I'm hoping it is the British version of what our Beverly Hills 90210 was....Only 1,000 times more controversial and 2,000 times more awesome. Nudity, drugs, alcohol, gender confusion, death....Basically anything you can think of is thrown into this show. My personal favs are the twinkly little theme song, Tony Stonem's bedding, and crazy Cassie.

The theme song

Tony Stonem's bedding

And last, but not least, Cassie.

The Men

No commentary is really needed for this one. The pictures do all the talking. I bet none these guys want to sit around and watch the movie Love Actually. Well, maybe Hugh Grant would....

British Love Fest indeed....
