As a kid I was obsessed with going to pumpkin patches. I loved the cider and candy apples, the corn maze, and all the pumpkins and gourdes with the cartoon faces on them. Nowadays crafty people are doing all sorts of fancy pants stuff with their pumpkins!
There are also those people who decide to go down the non-classy route. And for that, I applaud them.
