Busy, busy, busy...That's how I sum up this weekend. Friends, family, and to-do lists.... In between all those things I somehow managed to stop in to 3 different Goodwills in three different towns and scored some great stuff. Here's the official play-by-play:
Saturday
On the way home from meeting a friend for lunch I spotted a Goodwill off the street and scored a mason jar (for pens/pencils or kitchen tools) and a little glass jar (for bathroom stuff like q-tips).
Then when I got back to my neck-of-the-woods I felt the urge to stop into my neighborhood Goodwill and scored a milk glass cake plate for only $2.99. I was eyeing a woman carrying it around and my stalker creepiness paid off....She set the plate down and I swooped in to grab it!
I also grabbed a large corkboard for that inspiration board I want to make! I was actually shocked I found this. It was something I was meaning to get later in the day and to stumble upon something you actually need at a resale shop doesn't often happen to me.
Sunday
I went with my aunt to visit my grandparents on Sunday and on the way back she wanted to stop at Goodwill. Of course I didn't refuse.... And it's a good thing I didn't because I totally banked on this trip. For a grand total of $17 I got a brass magazine/newspaper holder, a shell dish, super heavy stone book ends, and an unbelievable cute owl side table!!
(I was too pooped from the weekend so the little owl table is hanging out in my trunk where it will stay until I'm un-pooped enough to carry it. It's super heavy.)
Saturday & Sunday
Along with my uber-amazing shopping weekend I also made much needed progress on a few things!!
My sad little end table is now officially in the process of receiving a much needed makeover. I primed Saturday and applied the first coat of color Sunday. Finished picture coming soon!
I also recovered and painted my $1.99 chair find. I left the chipped parts of wood as is and only painted the back and side rails in white. I like the slightly beat up look. I'm now using it as my new desk chair and am sitting on it right now!
