Weekend Rewind

One word. Tired. I'm not getting any younger and staying out past midnight on a Saturday rendered me handicapped all day Sunday. Limited productivity this weekend folks. Limited....

I did however manage to start a few things.

Ikea Lack Table Upgrade
I'm guilty of having lots of Ikea furniture. I am continually on the hunt for a new coffee table that is inexpensive, interesting, able to fit in my small car, and light enough for me to get up to my apartment myself (Ha!). Until that time where all those elements magically come together I will make do with what I got and try to make it a little better! While the whole wide world has experimented and tired of chalkboard paint I have done neither so I thought I'd paint the tops of my two white Lack tables with it.

{I decided to keep a little white border around the top of the table}

{Primed it}

{Chalkboard painted it. I did 3 coats to make it look even.}

{Wrote some pretty obvious words on it}

Inspiration Board
I had leftover fabric from the desk chair I recovered so I decided to use in on my inspiration board. Originally I was going to keep the wood frame and paint it white but once I started messing around with it I decided to cover the whole thing. All I did was lightly spray the bulletin board with spray adhesive, wrapped the fabric around the entire board, and staple gunned the heck out of it.

{The materials used and my project assistant Lola}

I was planning on using black ribbon to cover the staples on the interior edge but then came across some gold tacks I had and decided to use those instead. I only had a handful on me so I ran out yesterday to pick up some more. Apparently gold tacks are no longer in demand because I went to 5 different places (craft stores, office supply stores, and even convenience type stores like Walmart) and couldn't find any!! Crazy..... So now I have to order them online and my project is half finished. Boo.
