Hermes (The Retailer and Not the Greek God)

I recently saw kitchen cabinetry that I hadn't seen before but still reminded me of something. Inset style with a smooth slab door, buttery orange color, and silver sud accents. What did this color remind me of?

Ahhh...Yes, of course. Hermes boxes.

It's surprising how often you see a little orange box wind up in photos of interiors. It's one of the"Look at me! I'm wealthy and like to advertise it!" things. At least I think it is. I'm not wealthy so I am clearly speculating on this one. It could also be something stylists carry around and use all the time. What do I know?

Just one piece of advice. If this is your thing, just be subtle about it. If you get to the point where you find yourself storing all your boxes in your shower there's no way you'll be sitting pretty in party clothes, next to a handsome man, with a tub full of champagne at your disposal. Sure you might be sitting next to your tub but odds are you'll be alone drinking that champage because everyone hates you. No one likes a show-off.
