Taking care of business!
Well, not right now...This weekend I will be though. Many important things planned.
1. I will be socializing my new cat and my old cat. Hopefully they don't go all ninja cat on each other.
2. For the first time ever I will paint a piece of furniture the proper way. Instead of skipping the sanding, slapping on a coat or two of primer, messily applying paint and using no sealer what-so-ever I will use Bryn Alexandra's process. I will become amazing at painting furniture this weekend. I can feel it in my bones. I have already purchased her recommended products and am ready to go. There will be mass amounts of prep work since it's the beat up desk I recently bought. To refresh your memory this monstrosity...
...will get a couple coats of this paint color.
3. I will attempt to tear my bed apart. Confused? Back in the day when I liked matching furniture (eek) I bought a bed with a headboard a footboard that has an "X" shape detail to it. It's really not that bad but now that I have that black and white trellis duvet it looks way to busy. I'm not sure of the stability of the bed when the headboard and footboard are removed. I could be really dumb here but I'm hoping the frame is one that can stand alone. Mainly because, like the rest of the over-saturated design blogging community, I have wanted an upholstered headboard FORVER. My dilemna was that how the eff am I gonna make something like that by myself? Enter Sherry & John from Young House Love (bestest blog ever). They showed a super simple and single person friendly way to construct a headboard using a large art canvas frame. I might play around and alter their instructions a bit to make it beefier. We shall see.
4. I will also hopefully be taking some naps. This should of been my #1 TCB item.....
