No joke. I should do this for a living. Except that it takes me months to complete any project I start and that I'm a bit sloppy. Oh well.
Finally finished painting the skuzzy desk. Remember this?
Some sanding, some patching, three coats of primer, three coats of paint, and three coats of poly later....
It is now pretty. Still needs some touching up since some of the brass hardware simply refused to be removed. And since we're all aware that I'm a lazy painter I didn't tape it off and got a bit haphazard with the paint brush.
I should also mention that interiors of thrifted furniture somewhat give me the willies. The dust, random hairs, and rusted paper clips positively make me want to run far away and hide. So I did what I usually do and I quickly wiped the drawers clean and slapped paint on them. I did such a piss poor job of cleaning that I literally painted over dust and in one drawer a random string that seemed permanently attached. Ah, paint over it. Solves everything and gets rid of the cooties. Yep, still believe in cooties.
And now when I open the drawers I see bubblegum pink! What could be better?!
I got motivated and created myself a whole little office nook. Gotta love being creative in a studio apartmet. I'll post better pics of it this week when I (fingers crossed) remember to bring home my camera!
It's SO cute! I love the color. And yes, like you I also paint over dust just to get rid of it as fast as possible!
