Brass Lovers Anonymous

I know this post is kinda lazy blogger cheating on my part but I do have to direct you to Apartment Therapy's site today. They did a house tour with Tommy from Sarah's House! I do recall them both being on my Friday fav's list last week.  He's got some mad decorating and stylist skillz. And yes, I spelled "skills" with a "z." That's how awesome I think he is.

 

So quaint. Makes me want to attempt to be ladylike and drink tea and eat scones.

Why hello little yellow table......I see myself painting some random thrift store piece of furniture to look just like you in my near future.

Damn you striped rugs! You're everywhere I turn!! (and I like it)

Oh Magic 8 Ball.....You helped answer quite a few questions during my teenage years.

Lovin' the paint color here. Personally I gravitate towards brighter based colors but this is lovely.

I like how's he managed to infuse a balanced masculine/feminine vibe in his space. The monograms, flag motif,  trophies,  plaid and check fabrics, navy blue tones, and all the weightiness of the wood furniture pieces read masculine. Blending these elements with the more feminine pieces (dalmatian print chairs, pops of yellow, chandeliers, and quirky art) balance the manly decor. I also love all the old school brass metal tones! I really never thought that phrase would come out of my mouth.....
