I was doing some blog stalking last night and stumbled upon Olioboard. If you have any crazy obsessive compulsive tendencies do not, I repeat do not, visit this website. You will end up sitting in front of your computer until 4am creating rooms upon rooms of design inspirations. Not that I did that or anything.....
Lately I've been noticing how much my taste in design (as well as clothing) is changing and evolving. At one time my closet and home was sprinkled with bright colors, strong graphic patterns and (gasp) matching wood tones. Now whenever I see something granny chic or crafty lookin' I basically pass out. I decided to put together 3 sample mood boards to describe my design evolution.
My Distant Past {Circa 2004}:
I like to call this my "Just Graduated From College Ikea Bachelor Man Phase."
Not my finest hour..... Thankfully not one piece of "furniture" I owned at this time has a home in my current apartment. Blue and lime green? Blech, no thank you.
My Present {Circa 2005-Now} :
When I first dipped my toes into grown-up furniture land I made the rookie mistake of buying furniture all in one wood tone. I've thankfully outgrown this and since moving into my current apartment I've mingled in white painted pieces and various medium wood tones with all the dark. While I would love to Craigslist a few pieces I currently own I know this is not realistic right now. So for right now I'm making it work!
My Future {Circa Soon}:
Swoon.....One of these days tufted sofa (in any color), you will be mine. Quirky art, rough wood accents, and small floral prints currently have my attention. As does this Navajo inspired rug.
There you have it. My embarrassing past and my bright future!
Love,
