During my week off of work I decided I want to move. Badly. I'm over my character-less abode, the college-y type residents who slam doors at 3am and throw-up in elevators, and the ho-hum suburb location. Over it. I've known I've wanted to get the heck out of dodge for some time now but when one goes and paints the majority of her apartment back to the builder grade white you know something's up! Especially when not long ago I was obsessing over painting the entire place greige. I just have no desire to spend money or precious creative time on an apartment that no longer has my heart. Sooooooo....I'm apartment shopping! I know the type of location I want, the look I want, and am oddly excited about potentially downsizing my "stuff" as well as the overall apartment size. Keep in mind I currently live in a studio, so to say I want to downsize is a bit on the verge of crazy talk.
I want a floor plan that's a design challenge but still workable. The two different "wings" of the first floor plan and the sunroom of the second intrigue me. The third is a studio but the floor plan is super dividable and has a kick-ass walk in.
I want character. I don't want to have to fake it or create it myself. How about those super dark moldings and built-ins?
P.s. I don't care how ugly or small the kitchen is.
I want to donate or sell the majority of my furnishings and start from scratch. I want to incorporate more navy blue and gold metal tones into my life. I want to make a tufted headboard and paint some rickety furniture yellow.
I'd like this all to become a reality come mid to late spring. So clearly I have some winter homework to do!
