I've always been very "meh" when it comes to large scale words, letters, etc. in an interior. I think there's a fine line when it comes to decorating with them. Some are clever and graphic and function as art or conversational pieces. Some are kitchy and country and should be burned along with the people who decide to use them.
I like. Bold and to the point. The antique red letters complete the otherwise monotone kitchen.
Who needs a real fire anyways? Genius.
If you were have told me last week that in a post dated 11/16/10 I would approve of using the words play, laugh, dreams, and games on a wall I would have laughed hysterically and then probably cried a little in disgust. In this case (and only in this case), it's a cute idea!
Very original and unexpected.

The look is subtle when etched sideways on a mirror.
Colorful and girly. The addition of the white plates was a good one.
This is probably my favorite of the bunch. First of all, The Sound of Music reference is much appreciated and second of all the plates against the brown wall look divine.
So fun!
These last two are fantastic. Instead of blinds or glass block (yek.....hate glass block), use a window film and etch out whatever you'd like.
